I am a,  very active, mother of 3 and could make a million excuses not to workout, but after being introduced to CrossFit I don't WANT to find excuses.  My time is limited which makes CrossFit perfect for my lifestyle.  I no longer have time to spend 3 hours in the gym; thirty minutes of a CrossFit workout is all it takes.  I was introduced to CrossFit in 2008 after I gave birth to our first child. I continued CrossFitting throughout my second and third pregnancy, and couldn't have felt better. Of course I had to modify, especially towards the end, but that's the beauty of CrossFit; I was able to scale it to my ability. I love the diverse workouts and the competition that comes along with it; makes for a never-ending desire to pusher harder every day.

Justin Willis

I attended West Virginia University where I walked onto their baseball team the fall of my freshman year.  There my training truly began.  I learned about the olympic lifts, periodization, and got started in functional training.  After WVU, I employed much of what I experienced and learned when I started working for Explosive Performance. They are, in my opinion, the Northern VA leader in Speed and Agility training.  I spent 4 and a half years with them before moving on and starting up a program of my own.  This lead to Crystal and I starting CrossFit Warrenton.

I got my start in CrossFit by a websurfing accident.  Looking for kettlebell movements I stumbled across a workout titled “Nasty Girls“.  I’ll admit, the name had me interested, I was expecting the complete opposite of what was discovered.  3 sold females doing a workout that seemed pretty simple to complete.  Boy was I wrong, i failed miserably.  My squats weren’t as deep, my cleans were not as smooth, and don’t get me started on the Muscle Ups.  So after my 10+ years of being a personal trainer, speed coach, and strength coach, I changed my training style completely.  No more “overtraining” from the same repititive movements, let’s make it moe functional with constantly varied movements that actually have real life adaptations.  That’s my main bio, CrossFit works and I fell in love.  The rest is just simply history, and I learn from the past not dwell on it.

My Crossfit journey began in June 2012 all thanks to my mother! While watching tv, my dad turned to ESPN and a replay of the 2011 Crossfit Games happened to be on, I thought ‘Wow, this is pretty cool’ and decided do some research. After several weeks of talking about wanting to give it a try but being way to chicken to actually reach-out to schedule a trial, my mother decided she would do it on my behalf while I was away at a conference. The day I returned she informed me that the next evening I had my trial session. Oh man was I a nervous wreck! The last time I consistently worked out had been close to 8 years prior while I was a varsity track athlete in high school. Following my first session there was no turning back, I was hooked and have been hooked ever since.

Crossfit changed my life, not only am I a more fit person, but I’m also so much more confident! I now know that if I put in the time and effort great things will happen and I’m so glad my mother made that call and that I stepped in to the box that first night!

Jordan Leslie

Growing up I had been very active and played various sports, but focused on soccer throughout my high school years. During college I got involved in training for triathlons, focusing on strength and endurance(or so I thought).  In late 2013, I moved to Warrenton, Virginia after graduating from the University of Florida to start a new job. I decided to drop in at Crossfit Warrenton to try out this "functional fitness" training. I quickly realized how much crossfit pushes your limits, all while increasing your strength, endurance and mobility.  After about a year doing crossfit, I received my Crossfit Level 1 certification and a few months after received a USA Weightlifting certification. I love that there is so much to learn about the specifics of proper body movement with the olympic lifts and gymnastics. There is always something to work towards and improve upon

I first found CrossFit online doing some research for everyday workout programs.  I tried CrossFit for the first time in 2012 and found what would change everything about fitness for me.  I loved CrossFit from the moment I did that first WOD, and have not looked back.  I like the fact I didn't have to 'think' about what I was going to do each day; it was there for me on the whiteboard.  After trying to do CrossFit on my own, I decided to join WAR in 2013.  In March 2015 I decided to get my Level 1 Certification primarily to improve my form and get better in all aspects.  Fortunately, Crystal and Justin asked me if I'd be interested in training at WAR and I took the opportunity.  I look forward to helping people get healthy.  remember, the whole point is to get fit and have fun... Who doesn't what to do that.
